Dennis Cohan, CEO
Dennis first established the company as a specialized general contractor in 1987, and soon thereafter discovered a gap in the provision of fire barrier management services within healthcare environments. In response, he launched PREVENT to provide facility owners and managers with accurate inspection and repair of their fire and life safety systems to maintain compliance with the fire code. Under his guidance, the company has become the recognized leader in the industry, and has grown beyond the original office in Northern California to include regional offices and service areas throughout the US.
Educated at Chico State University, Dennis holds bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry. As CEO, his focus is on ensuring PREVENT continues to deliver the highest quality fire barrier management and code compliance services while envisioning the next stage of the company’s development. He is committed to “doing what the best company would do,” and empowers the staff to make responsible choices in alignment with that mandate. As both an early founder and expert in the fire/life safety industry, Dennis represents the company and speaks at numerous events nationwide.
